Project Management 13: Review Training Course

$27.50 inc. GST

This course covers what happens after a project ends — and why that moment matters as much as everything that came before it. Learners work through how to gather useful client feedback, how to run a post-implementation review (PIR) that identifies genuine lessons and success measures, and how to apply the principles of continuous improvement to set future projects up for better outcomes.

Designed for Australian and New Zealand workplaces, this is the final topic (#13) in Tribal Habits’ complete project management series. It assumes a solid working knowledge of the project management process and is suited to anyone who leads, contributes to, or is responsible for reviewing the outcomes of projects. On completion, learners receive an instant digital certificate.

This course will take approximately 28 minutes to complete.

Why is the Project Management 13: Review Course Important?

Too many organisations treat project completion as the finish line — close the file, move on, repeat the same mistakes. The reality is that the period immediately after a project closes is one of the most valuable opportunities a team has: to capture what worked, examine what didn’t, and build institutional knowledge that reduces waste and improves performance on every project that follows.

Without a structured review process, lessons go undocumented, client feedback is lost or ignored, and the same problems resurface across different projects and different teams. This course gives project managers and their teams the tools to make the post-project phase productive — not just procedural.

This course directly addresses that gap by providing a clear, practical framework for obtaining meaningful client feedback, conducting a rigorous post-implementation review, and applying continuous improvement principles to future work.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Identify the difference between constructive and unconstructive client feedback — and how to obtain the former
  • Apply a structured post-implementation review process to evaluate project outcomes against success measures
  • Describe the key components of a PIR and the role it plays in organisational learning
  • Recognise how continuous improvement principles connect project closure to future project performance
  • Contribute to a culture of learning and accountability within project teams and across the organisation

Organisational Benefits

  • Build institutional knowledge — Documented PIRs create a record of lessons learned that benefits future project teams, not just those involved in the original project
  • Reduce repeated mistakes — Structured post-project reviews identify the root causes of problems before they recur in subsequent projects
  • Improve project performance over time — Organisations that embed review practices consistently deliver better results as teams build on what works and correct what doesn’t
  • Demonstrate professional project governance — A formalised review process signals to clients, stakeholders, and leadership that projects are managed with rigour and accountability
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement — Teams that review and reflect regularly develop stronger performance habits and greater ownership of project outcomes
