Why is the Warden Training 1: Emergency Preparation Course Important?

Whether it is a fire, chemical spill, or medical event, the outcome for people in the building depends heavily on what has been put in place beforehand. Wardens who understand their preparation responsibilities — and can communicate procedures clearly to others — are a direct line of defence against confusion and harm.
In New Zealand, the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 requires persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs) to eliminate or minimise risks to workers and others as far as reasonably practicable. This includes maintaining emergency arrangements and ensuring workers understand their roles within those arrangements.
