This course covers what empathy is, the different types of empathy, and how to apply it in everyday workplace communication. Learners will develop practical strategies to build their empathy skills and learn how to work through common barriers that can make empathetic responses harder to access under pressure. The course also explores how empathy connects directly to the three pillars of effective teamwork: respect, honesty, and collaboration.
Designed for employees across all roles and industries, this course is completed entirely online at the learner’s own pace. A digital certificate is issued immediately on completion, giving individuals and organisations a record of training.
This course will take approximately 31 minutes to complete.
Workplaces where people feel unheard or misunderstood tend to see higher conflict, lower morale, and weaker team performance. Empathy is one of the most practical tools available for changing that — it shapes how people listen, how they respond to difficult situations, and how they work alongside colleagues and clients who see things differently.
When empathy is actively practised across a team, the results show up in measurable ways: clearer communication, fewer interpersonal conflicts, and a culture where people are more willing to raise problems and support each other to solve them.
This course is fully online and accessible from any location at any time. Learning is built around interactive, scenario-based activities that reflect real workplace situations — not abstract theory. Learners can pause and resume at any point, making it straightforward to fit around work schedules.
There is no formal assessment for this course. On completion, an instant digital certificate is issued, providing a verifiable record of training. The course is designed to WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, with plain-language content suitable for a range of literacy levels.
No formal scored assessment – instead, reflection points and knowledge checks are embedded throughout
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
