LMS for Construction & Trade Services

two construction workers reviewing training in Tribal Habits

Keep safety, compliance and skills training moving with the job. Construction training doesn’t happen in one classroom, with one workforce, on one site.

Employees move between projects. Apprentices learn on the job. Subcontractors come and go. Procedures change between sites, clients and types of work.

Tribal Habits keeps workplace training structured, current and trackable across your workforce.

Industry Reality

The biggest training challenges across construction and trades

Construction is built around practical work, changing environments and knowledge passed from experienced people to those coming through.

01

A White Card is where the work starts

Before someone starts construction work, you need to know they hold a valid White Card and be able to prove it.

Tribal Habits can keep each worker’s White Card evidence alongside their wider training record.

From there, you can manage the workplace induction, procedures and ongoing training specific to your business.

02

The workforce rarely sits still for very long

Projects, sites and crews change constantly.

Employees, apprentices, labour hire workers and subcontractors all need the right training before work starts.

When records are scattered across spreadsheets, emails and paper files, it’s harder to prove who is ready to work.

03

Experience gets passed down on every site

Construction employs more apprentices and trainees than any other Australian industry — 37.5% of all active contracts at the end of 2025.

That puts experienced tradespeople and supervisors at the centre of training the next generation.

Tribal Habits helps capture that knowledge and turn it into consistent training across crews and sites.

04

Training records matter when things goes wrong

You need to know who has been trained, what they completed and whether licences are current.  Safe Work Australia recommends keeping records of inductions, training and supervision, and requires records for certain tasks and high-risk work licences.  Tribal Habits keeps that training evidence together and easy to find when you need it.

The Difference

What a better training system looks like

The same organisation. A completely different training operation.

Before Tribal Habits

With Tribal Habits

Training records sit across spreadsheets, paper induction forms, shared drives and individual managers.

Training, evidence and completion records are kept together and can be reported when you need them.

Every supervisor explains the same process in their own way.

Capture the agreed process once, then use it as the foundation for consistent instruction across teams and sites.

Experienced workers spend years repeating the same explanations.

Turn their knowledge into reusable learning that supports the coaching and practical supervision happening on the job.

A licence or certification expiry gets noticed when someone checks the spreadsheet.

Collect licences and certifications, record expiry dates and build renewal or recertification workflows around them.

A procedure changes and another PDF gets emailed to the workforce.

Update the training, reassign it where required and keep a record of who completed the current version.

You pay an LMS licence for every worker and contractor sitting in the database.

Only people who log in during the month count towards your Monthly Active User usage.

Pre-Built Training Library

Training that supports the work happening on site

Start with what is already built

The Tribal Habits library includes 500+ pre-built courses across compliance, safety, management, leadership and workplace skills.

Then build what only your business can teach

Every construction or trade business has training that won’t exist in an off-the-shelf library.

That might include company induction, individual project induction, internal safe work procedures, equipment and plant familiarisation, quality requirements, defect prevention, environmental procedures, client requirements, apprentice development, supervisor expectations, trade-specific processes, company standards, internal policies and customer or handover procedures.

This is where your experienced people become part of the training system.

Their expertise can be captured, structured and reused rather than disappearing into another conversation on site.

Pricing

Transparent pricing, based on who actually trains

In reality most staff don’t do training every month, so why should you pay for everyone every month? Tribal Habits charges on monthly active users (someone who logs in at least once during the month). So you only pay for the staff who log in and train each month.

How Monthly active user pricing works

You only pay when someone actually trains

Most LMS platforms charge per seat, whether staff log in or not. Tribal Habits uses Monthly Active User pricing, so you only pay for a tradesperson, admin staff member, apprentice, or subcontractor when they log in that month. Store all the people that may need to do training at some stage (including casuals and subcontractors) at no extra cost.

How Monthly active user pricing works

What it looks like in practice

A construction company has 400 workers and contractors stored in Tribal Habits. During one month, 95 people log in. Some are new starters completing induction. Others are apprentices working through internal development. A group of supervisors complete safety training. Several workers upload or renew certification evidence. Only those active users count towards usage for that month.

What matters beyond the training content

Why do construction and trade companies choose Tribal Habits?

Induction, safety training, operating procedures, and your own trade specific training can all sit in one learning platform.

Training can be assigned by role, team or location, with reporting that shows what has been completed, what is still due and where follow-up is needed.

Pay for who trains, not stored users

Monthly active user pricing means casuals, part-timers and subcontractors only count when they log in. No per-seat fees for staff who aren't using the platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Tribal Habits replace White Card training?

No. Construction induction training must be completed through the appropriate approved training pathway.

Tribal Habits can support the workplace training that follows it, including company induction, site procedures, policies, safety training and internal learning.

Can Tribal Habits replace high-risk work licences or accredited training?

No. Where legislation, an industry requirement or a qualification requires formal training, assessment or licensing, that requirement still applies.

You can record external qualifications, licences and evidence in Tribal Habits and manage related internal training around them.

Can we track licences and certifications?

Yes. External Knowledge can be used to record training, qualifications, licences and documents already completed outside Tribal Habits.

The Requirements feature can collect evidence such as licences or certifications, capture expiry dates, route submissions for assessor review and support reporting around their status.

Can we use it for site and company inductions?

Yes, you can create your own induction content and assign it to the workers who need it.  This training can cover company information, policies, procedures and other knowledge suitable for online delivery.

Site-specific instruction, practical demonstrations and supervision should still happen where the nature of the work requires them.

Can we train apprentices in Tribal Habits?

Yes, for the workplace learning your organisation is responsible for.

You can create training around company procedures, safety, equipment, technical knowledge, soft skills and internal development.

Tribal Habits does not replace the RTO, formal qualification or apprenticeship training contract.

Can experienced tradespeople help create training?

Yes. Your subject matter experts can contribute directly to training content.

Use video, text, images, processes, questions and interactive elements to capture what they know and make it available to other workers.

Can we track practical observations?

Yes. Observation elements allow an assessor to grade a learner against a checklist of observable tasks.

This can support internal practical learning and competency workflows where that approach is appropriate.

It does not replace a formal competency assessment where an accredited or legislated assessment is required.

Can we track toolbox talks or offline learning?

Yes. Tribal Habits supports blended and offline learning activities, allowing training that happens away from the screen to form part of the learner’s training record.

Can contractors use Tribal Habits?

Yes. Contractors and other external learners can be given access to relevant training and tracked separately from your permanent workforce.

Does it work on mobile devices?

Yes. Tribal Habits is mobile responsive and works through a modern web browser, making it suitable for workers who spend little time at a desk.

Do we have to create all our training ourselves?

No. Start with the 500+ pre-built courses in the Tribal Habits library and create your own content where your processes, procedures or expertise are specific to your organisation.
