LMS for Manufacturing

a manufacturing worker training with Tribal Habits

Keep safety, operational knowledge and product training moving with your business. Manufacturing training reaches far beyond induction.

Your people need current safety procedures, clear production knowledge, role-specific training and access to the expertise that keeps work moving. Product knowledge may also need to reach sales teams, distributors, service partners and customers.

Industry Reality

The biggest training challenges in manufacturing

Manufacturing depends on people knowing exactly what to do, often in environments where outdated or inconsistent knowledge carries a real cost.

01

Safety training has to hold up in a high-risk environment.

Australian manufacturing recorded 14,800 serious workers’ compensation claims in 2023–24, accounting for 10.1% of serious claims nationally.

Safety training needs to stay current as equipment, procedures, people and site requirements change — covering inductions, WHS, manual handling, incident processes, PPE and the instructions people need before starting work.

02

Skilled people carry knowledge the business can't lose.

Jobs and Skills Australia found hiring difficulties are already putting pressure on manufacturers, affecting productivity and increasing pressure on existing staff.

That makes internal knowledge more valuable. Tribal Habits helps manufacturers turn the expertise of experienced operators, supervisors and technical teams into structured training for new starters, role changes and refreshers.

03

Product knowledge has to reach beyond the shop floor.

For many manufacturers, training extends beyond employees.

Sales teams, distributors, installers, service partners and customers may all need accurate product knowledge.

Tribal Habits gives manufacturers a structured way to deliver product training beyond the core workforce, instead of relying on manuals, emails and one-off demonstrations.

04

Training has to stay consistent across shifts and sites.

Manufacturing teams rarely learn at the same time or in the same place. Different shifts, locations and job roles can quickly create gaps in how procedures and expectations are understood. Tribal Habits helps manufacturers assign the right training to the right people, track completion across every site and shift, and keep expectations consistent no matter where people are working.

The Difference

What a better training system looks like

The same operation. A completely different training operation.

Before Tribal Habits

With Tribal Habits

Important procedures live across SOPs, shared drives, presentations and the heads of experienced employees.

Operational knowledge becomes structured training people can return to when they need it.

Supervisors repeatedly walk new starters through the same information.

Core induction and role training can be assigned consistently, leaving supervisors to focus their time on practical coaching and site-specific work.

Training records have to be pulled together from different places when someone asks for evidence.

Completion, progress and assessment records are available through the LMS and can be filtered or exported when required.

A changed procedure creates another PDF, email or presentation that has to find its way through the business.

The relevant training can be updated inside the platform and delivered to the people who need the new information.

Product training depends on manuals, demonstrations and individual product experts.

Product knowledge can become reusable training for employees and approved external learners.

Pricing

Transparent pricing, based on who actually trains

In reality most staff don’t do training every month, so why should you pay for everyone every month? Tribal Habits charges on monthly active users (someone who logs in at least once during the month). So you only pay for the staff who log in and train each month.

How Monthly active user pricing works

You only pay when someone actually trains

Most LMS platforms charge per seat, whether staff log in or not. Tribal Habits uses Monthly Active User pricing, so you only pay for a driver, warehouse worker, or subcontractor when they log in and train that month. Store your full roster (including casuals and subcontractors) at no extra cost.

How Monthly active user pricing works

What it looks like in practice

A manufacturer with 500 employees across two sites commits to a 150 MAU plan. Each month, active users might include new starters completing induction, production staff completing safety or refresher training, supervisors learning updated procedures, and sales or service teams completing product training. If usage goes over the plan in a busier month, the extra users are charged at the plan rate. In quieter months, stored users who do not log in do not count toward usage.

What matters beyond the training content

Why do manufacturing teams choose Tribal Habits?

Induction, safety training, operating procedures, product knowledge and internal courses all sit in one platform. Training can be assigned by role, team or location, with reporting that shows what’s completed, what’s due, and where follow-up is needed.

Pay for who trains, not stored users

Monthly active user pricing means casuals, part-timers, contractors or customers only count when they log in. No per-seat fees for people who aren't using the platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we use Tribal Habits for manufacturing induction and safety training?

Yes. You can create structured induction pathways using your own site and role requirements alongside relevant modules from the Tribal Habits library. Enrolments, recurring training, due dates and reminders can be managed through the LMS.

Can we create training for our own machinery, production processes or SOPs?

Yes. This is one of the strongest manufacturing use cases for Tribal Habits. Your team can build training around organisation-specific processes using the integrated course builder. Existing documents, videos and other source material can be incorporated into the training.

Do we need an instructional designer to create our own courses?

No specialist authoring software is required. Tribal Habits uses a guided course-building process designed for internal subject-matter experts, HR, operations and other workplace users. Sage AI provides additional assistance during content creation.

Can we track practical training completed on the factory floor?

Yes. Tribal Habits supports blended learning and observation activities, allowing practical components to sit within a broader training program.

Can different roles receive different training?

Yes. Enrolment rules, groups, teams and learning pathways can be used to control which training different learners receive.

Can we use Tribal Habits to train distributors, resellers or customers?

Yes. Tribal Habits supports training for external users as well as employees. Child portals are also available for use cases requiring separate branding or learner management.

Do you provide manufacturing-specific courses?

The Tribal Habits library includes relevant workplace safety, compliance, leadership and workplace-skills modules. It is not positioned as a library of pre-built training for every manufacturing process, machine or technical discipline.

Those organisation-specific topics can be created using your own internal knowledge and documentation.

Can our training be updated when a process or product changes?

Yes. Content created in Tribal Habits can be edited inside the platform. Copied library content is also editable.

Does Tribal Habits replace our WHS system?

Tribal Habits is a learning platform and LMS. It manages training content, enrolment, learning activity and training records. It is not a WHS incident-management system.

It can integrate with other systems through supported integration options, including public APIs and SSO.

Where is Tribal Habits hosted?

Tribal Habits data is hosted in Australia. The platform is ISO 27001 certified.

How does pricing work?

Tribal Habits primarily uses Monthly Active User pricing. Users count toward usage when they log in during a calendar month. Your organisation can store users who are not currently training without paying for them as active users.
