Goals are created and managed by admins. Each goal has a name, a period (the timeframe over which the target applies), one or more categories, and a target value in points or minutes per category. Categories must have points or minutes allocation enabled before they can be used in a goal. Once created, goals are assigned to specific users — either individually via a user’s profile or in bulk. A user can be assigned multiple goals simultaneously. The points or minutes a learner accrues towards a goal are drawn from their completed training (topics and pathways with the relevant categories assigned) and from any external knowledge records they or an admin have logged with those categories.
Allows admins to set and track personalised or role-based training targets at scale. Different goals can be assigned to different user groups — for example, solicitors receive a legal CPD goal, managers receive a leadership hours goal, and all staff receive a general training target. The bulk assignment capability makes it practical to manage goals across large user bases without individual manual configuration.

Learners can view their own goals progress directly from their profile page on the learner homepage. The profile page includes a Goals view showing each assigned goal, the current period, the target value per category, and the points or minutes accumulated to date. Progress is shown per category within each goal, allowing learners to see not just their overall progress but which specific categories they are tracking well or falling short in. Admins can also view any individual learner’s goals progress by navigating to their profile in the Admin People area and viewing the Goals tab — providing a quick per-person view without needing to run a full analytics report.
Gives learners direct visibility of their own CPD or training obligations — removing the need to ask their admin or check a spreadsheet. Learners can self-manage their progress and make informed decisions about what training to prioritise. For admins, the inline Goals tab on a user profile provides a fast check-in view for one-on-one conversations about training progress, without needing to pull a full report.

Dedicated reports are available in the Analytics area under the Goals section. Goals Targets: shows total points or minutes each person has accrued toward their assigned goal targets, with each goal as a column and each user as a row. Goals Progress: shows progress towards each assigned goal as an overall percentage per person. Goals Status: shows overall status (in progress vs completed) for each person towards their assigned goals. Goals Categories: shows per-category breakdown for each person — attained vs target per category, total attained vs total target, and overall status. Points or Minutes Attained: a raw summary of all points or minutes accumulated by category and time period for each person, without reference to a specific goal — useful for external CPD reporting or auditing. All reports support saved filters and CSV download.
Provides complete visibility of goal progress at both individual and organisational level. The Goals Progress report gives an at-a-glance percentage view — useful for management reporting on whether the team is on track with its CPD obligations mid-period. The Goals Categories report adds the granular per-category breakdown needed for formal CPD audits or regulatory reporting. The Points or Minutes Attained report is the raw data report — useful for exporting to a professional body or regulatory authority without the goal structure attached.
