Importing Library Topics

Last updated 29/06/2026

How it works

Admins can import any library topic directly into their portal via a single click. Imported topics are immediately available for enrolment and appear in the organisation’s branding (logo, colours, fonts) automatically. Imported topics cannot be edited by creators. However, they retain a live link to the Tribal Habits library — when the library topic is updated, an alert appears in the portal and admins can apply the update with a single click.

Benefit

The recommended approach for compliance topics, where legal accuracy is paramount. Organisations benefit from Tribal Habits’ ongoing review and update process without any internal effort — when updated content is ready to apply, admins can simply click ‘update’ to obtain the latest version (and our Version management features will migrate learners to the new version seamlessly). Branding is applied automatically, so topics feel native to the portal without any configuration.

FAQs

Importing keeps a live link to the Tribal Habits library — when the topic is updated by Tribal Habits, an alert appears in the portal and the update can be applied with a single click. Copying creates a fully editable duplicate but severs the link, so no future updates are received.
No. Imported topics cannot be edited — content is fixed. Settings such as due dates, notifications, and certificates can be configured, but the topic content itself is managed by Tribal Habits. If editable content is needed, use Copy instead.
Compliance topics are reviewed and verified against Australian and New Zealand legislation. Importing keeps them connected to Tribal Habits’ ongoing review process — when legislation changes, the update is prepared and can be applied in one click without any internal effort.

Copying Library Topics

Last updated 29/06/2026

How it works

Admins can copy any library topic to create a fully editable duplicate in their portal. The copied topic appears in the organisation’s branding and can be modified in any way using the standard content editor. Once copied, the topic severs its link to the library source and will not receive any future updates from Tribal Habits.

Benefit

Ideal for development or capability topics that organisations want to customise with their own context, examples, policies, or terminology. Also useful for compliance topics where an organisation wants to add internal policy acknowledgements or wrap the content with their own procedures — though for compliance, importing and pairing with a separate policy module is generally recommended.

FAQs

Copy is the right choice when you need to customise the content — adding internal policy context, organisation-specific examples, or your own procedures. Importing is better when legal accuracy is the priority and you want ongoing updates managed for you.
Yes. Once copied and edited, the topic is no longer connected to Tribal Habits’ legally verified library content. Editing a compliance topic removes its verified status — the organisation becomes responsible for keeping the content accurate.
No. Copying severs the link to the library permanently — the copied topic is an independent duplicate that will not receive any future updates.
Yes. The recommended approach is to import the compliance topic and create a separate short topic for any internal policy content, then combine both in a pathway. This keeps the compliance content verified and updateable while allowing customisation alongside it.

Compliance Topics

Last updated 29/06/2026

How it works

The library includes a comprehensive collection of compliance topics covering Australian and New Zealand workplace legislation and best practice. Topics cover areas including work health and safety, anti-discrimination, privacy, fair work, code of conduct, sexual harassment, whistleblowing, and more. Compliance topics in their original imported form are reviewed and verified against AU and NZ legislation. Topics are updated when legislation changes. Many compliance topics have separate versions for employees and managers, as well as AU, NZ, and where applicable, Global versions.

Benefit

Provides organisations with accurate, up-to-date compliance training. The inclusion of manager-specific versions ensures that those with greater obligations under legislation receive appropriately tailored content. All content is written and designed for Australian and New Zealand workplaces, unlike generic global libraries.

FAQs

Yes. Compliance topics in the Tribal Habits library are written and designed for Australian and New Zealand workplaces — covering work health and safety, anti-discrimination, privacy, fair work, sexual harassment, whistleblowing, and more — with separate AU and NZ versions where legislation differs.
Yes. Tribal Habits reviews and updates compliance topics when legislation changes. Organisations with imported topics are alerted when an update is available and can apply it with a single click.
Yes. Most compliance topics have separate employee and manager versions — reflecting the different obligations and responsibilities each group has under relevant legislation.

Professional Development and Capability Topics

Last updated 29/06/2026

How it works

The library includes a broad range of professional development topics spanning leadership, communication, management, wellbeing, productivity, diversity and inclusion, retail, hospitality, early childhood, and more. These topics are professionally produced with the same interactive elements used across the platform. They are available for both import and copy, and can be combined with organisation-specific topics in pathways.

Benefit

Gives organisations access to a wide variety of non-compliance training without needing to create it from scratch. Topics can be used as standalone modules or combined with custom content to create role-specific or onboarding-focused pathways. Suitable for organisations that want to offer professional development but lack internal L&D capacity to produce it.

FAQs

Yes. The library includes a broad range of professional development topics spanning leadership, communication, management, wellbeing, productivity, diversity and inclusion, retail, hospitality, early childhood, and more.
Yes. Unlike compliance topics where importing is generally recommended, PD and capability topics are well suited to copying and customising — adding organisation-specific context, examples, or terminology to make them more relevant.
Yes. PD and capability topics can be freely mixed with compliance topics and custom-built topics within pathways — there are no restrictions on how library content is combined with internally built material.
Yes. Topic suggestions can be submitted to the Tribal Habits support team for consideration in future library additions.

Library Topic Updates and Change Log

Last updated 29/06/2026

How it works

Tribal Habits regularly adds new topics and updates existing ones in response to legislative changes, client requests, or content improvements. A public change log is maintained on the support site and updated each time a topic is added, updated, or when upcoming releases are planned. Within the portal, admins with imported topics are notified when an update is available and can apply it with a single click.

Benefit

Ensures organisations are always aware of content changes and can act on them promptly. For compliance-heavy organisations, this eliminates the need to monitor legislative changes themselves — Tribal Habits tracks and communicates updates as they occur. The roadmap section of the change log allows admins to plan ahead if a new topic is expected.

FAQs

A yellow alert appears in the library area of the admin portal when an imported topic has a newer version available — admins can apply the update with a single click when ready.
A public change log is maintained on the Tribal Habits support site and updated each time a topic is added, updated, or when upcoming releases are planned — giving admins visibility of what changed and why before deciding whether to apply.
Updates are applied per portal on the admin’s own schedule — they are never applied automatically. Admins choose when to update, giving full control over timing relative to active learner enrolments.
Yes. The change log on the support site includes a roadmap section covering upcoming topic releases — useful for planning ahead if a specific compliance or capability topic is expected.

Content Conversion Service

Available as Add On (extra cost)

Last updated 29/06/2026

How it works

Tribal Habits offers a paid, but low cost, professional service where their team of expert instructional designers converts existing training content into fully interactive Tribal Habits topics. Accepted source formats include PowerPoint slides, PDF documents, workbooks, webinar recordings, video files, and legacy SCORM modules. The output is a fully branded, interactive topic delivered directly into the organisation’s portal. One round of revisions is included. Following delivery, the organisation has full editing access to the converted content.

Benefit

Removes the most common barrier to getting started — the effort of building content from scratch. Organisations with years of existing training materials can quickly move them into the platform without internal design resources. Particularly valuable at implementation when speed to launch matters, or for complex topics where professional instructional design makes a meaningful difference to learner experience.

FAQs

Yes. Tribal Habits offers a paid content conversion service where their team of instructional designers converts existing materials — PowerPoint slides, PDFs, workbooks, videos, or legacy SCORM modules — into fully interactive, branded topics delivered directly into the portal.
Minimal involvement is required. The Tribal Habits team works from the source materials provided — a quote is typically provided within one business day and the standard turnaround is approximately two weeks per module. One round of revisions is included.
es. Once delivered, converted topics are fully editable using the standard content editor — the organisation has complete control to modify, update, or extend the content at any time.
Yes — particularly so. PowerPoint slides provide a strong source of content that experienced instructional designers can rapidly transform into interactive training. The conversion service is most valuable when speed to launch matters or when internal teams lack the capacity or design skills to rebuild content themselves.
